The Thoroughly Evil Men

Julien Lahaut

Jean-Pierre Van Rossem

These men did their best to ruin solemn national occasions for the whole country because of their own selfish views. One got what he deserved, the other at least went to prison for a time (though not because of doing this of course but for a crime of fraud -cheating people of their money, very rich for two Marxists).

  1. Reading accounts of the Question Royale, in particular, I have been astonished at how many of these wretches got away with making all sorts of outrageous, even openly revolutionary statements, without being punished at all.

  2. It would probably infuriate me to read those. What does it take for a charge of treason today? The King is not political and so to me an attack on the King is an attack on the countrie and that should be tolerated never!

  3. Maybe you don't want to read it, but here is a sampling of some bloodthirsty leftist rhetoric from the Question Royale. How could such speeches be permitted?!

  4. I have heard of Van Rossem before. A typical hypocritical leftist; a millionaire who is a communist and who made his millions by market manipulation rather than honest work. A truly despicable man.

  5. They were both atrocious and enemies of their country. I would say Van Rossem is worse only because without him Lahaut may have just been an isolated case but I am afraid because of Van Rossem doing it again this may become some sort of sick Marxist tradition. I worry about who will try to make a scene when the turn of Prince Philippe comes.
